Drive along coastal towns and beautiful beaches to Bar. Continue by train to Podgorica, through the 6.2 km long Sozina tunnel, the longest among more than 100 tunnels that break through the Montenegrin mountains. The railway crosses the largest lake in the Balkans - Lake Skadar. We pass by the fishing villages of Virpazar and Vranjina on Lake Skadar. The road continues, past vineyards and orchards, across the Zeta plain towards the capital, Podgorica. Continuation of the road through the magnificent canyon of the Morača river (from 12 masl in Bar to 1,032 masl in Kolašin). This part of the railway line crosses the bridge "Mala rijeka", the highest bridge in Europe (201 m), and you can enjoy the beautiful view of untouched nature.
We get off the train in Kolašin and continue by bus to Biogradska Gora, which was declared a National Park in 1952. A short walk around Lake Biograd, which is located on the mountain Bjelasica, at an altitude of 1094 m. The lake is one of the largest and most famous of the six glacial lakes in this national park. It is surrounded by one of the three most famous rainforests in Europe, with trees over 500 years old that reach a height of 50 meters, and it is only 16 km northeast of Kolašin. The lake is 1,100 meters long and 410 meters wide, with an average depth of 4.5 meters, which makes it suitable for boating and enjoying the clean mountain air and incredible scenes of the reflection of the surrounding mountains in the emerald color of the lake.
Lunch break with traditional dishes in Kolašin. Return on a winding road through the fascinating canyon of the Morača River, which will raise your adrenaline and delight you.
Visit to the Morača Monastery - one of the most famous historical and cultural monuments of Montenegro, the endowment of Nemanjić from 1252. For centuries it was a spiritual, enlightening, cultural and liberating center. It is surrounded by a high stone wall, with lodgings in the courtyard, decorated with frescoes and artistic carvings. The most monumental painting of the Moravian cycle represents the prophet Elijah, persecuted, standing alone in the mountains, lonely, with a sole raven that brings him food.
